Listen to Traci Hales’ interview on Write on 4 Corners, KSJE, Farmington:
Long time San Juan Writer VICKY RAMAKKA passed away in July, 2023, leaving a rich collection of award-winning articles, short stories, and photographic works. Her first novel, The Cactus Plot–Murder In The High Desert, won a New Mexico-Arizona Book Award for cozy mystery and reached best seller on Amazon’s amateur sleuth category. Her follow-up sequel, The Pearl Plot–Murder at the Old Homestead, was published in July, 2023, shortly before her passing. A long-time animal lover and devoted to her feline companions, Vicky demonstrated her concern for animal welfare by volunteering for the San Juan Animal League in San Juan County, New Mexico. The San Juan Writers plan to dedicate their upcoming animal anthology to Vicky’s memory.
